"I think education is a privilege."
Australian Education Minister Brendan Nelson (statement televised in the ABC documentary program Four Corners, 27 June 2005)

"Education is not a privilege, but a right for all human beings. For if we are to solve all our personal and world problems properly and permanently, we need education."

"Knowledge is a process of piling up facts; wisdom lies in their simplification."
Martin Luther King (1929-1968)

"Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens."
Jimi Hendrix

"The law of balance requires us to speak our wisdom as a form of knowledge so we can quickly approach the ultimate truth."

Here is a selection of free information which may be of interest to you. Put together in a quick, rough and ready way, the information provides anyone in the world with an opportunity to learn and get a feel for some of the most stable knowledge humankind has produced so far for the 21st century and beyond.

Why do we give away free educational information at SUNRISE?

We give away information because we feel it is important to take a balance between selling quality and easy-to-learn educational information and making it freely available to the masses. As the Roman philosopher and former slave, Epictetus, once said:

'We must not believe the many, who say that only free people ought to be educated, but we should rather believe the philosophers who say that only the educated are free.' (The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark. London: Headline Book Publishing, p.333.)

And if you want to truly help people, you must begin to help yourself. So what better way is there to help yourself than through self-education? As Ralph Waldo Emerson said:

'It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no person can sincerely try to help another without helping themselves.'
