Lookup databases link to the contacts to expand and specialise your information. Custom-built lookup databases can be developed and added to suit your specialised needs.

All databases utilise a common database design platform for simplicity and ease of use.

• Built-in security features including the ability to stop guest users (in multiuser mode) from accidentally deleting and exporting records and modifying existing information (except the general notes); encryption/decryption of all text fields (requires Troi Encryptor Plug-in, or choose your own and we will incorporate it into the database); password authentication system; and an environment detection system for preventing people from copying and running your database on another computer without your consent.

Multiuser License
The multiuser license version of SUNRISE Contacts 2012 will allow you share databases with users on the web, the FileMaker Pro network, or both.

You can configure the databases for sharing with selected users. The additional software you will need to share the databases are as follows:

^a A mini-Server is built-in for limited network use. Recommended for all network access to SUNRISE Contacts 2012 up to the number of users specified and/or where management of the databases are required to be performed by an administrator at the same time as the databases are being served on the network.

^b It is recommended (but not a necessity) to purchase a copy of FileMaker Pro 11 to assist the administrator to have simultaneous access to the databases while they are being served on the network. Otherwise, the Server must be stopped and the in-built runtime application supplied freely with SUNRISE Contacts 2012 be used for administration work before the databases can be served again.

^c Provides a standard Web Publishing feature for access to databases on the web (ie. the online network option). This involves using the Server to create a static web page with the relevant fields you want to access from the database being served using the web publishing language of PHP or XML/XSLT. This Server edition creates the web page with relative ease for the owner.

^d Provides an additional Instant Web Publishing option. There is no need to create a web page. The pages are generated automatically and provides a near identical recreation of the layouts used in SUNRISE Contacts 2012 for any browser. Please note that not all features and functions are available in the instant web publishing mode as in the FileMaker Pro client (or administrator) mode, or the runtime version.

^e It is recommended Australian users purchase the US version as the Australian version costs $4,681.82 excluding GST (as of October 2010).

 
FileMaker Pro 11, FileMaker Server 11 and FileMaker Server 11 Advanced can be purchased from FileMaker, Inc.

The alternative is to host your SUNRISE Contacts databases for access by you and/or your specific organisation on a dedicated FileMaker Pro server set up by others for a small monthly fee. For example, you could try MacUSA.
